As far as my understanding goes, EB1/2/3 is fairly recent, 15-20 year pehnomemon. As such getting examples of people who have been extremely successful post getting the visa is going to be difficult. Even for Harvard reunions, usually it is only at the 25th reunion (among a few thousand people) that you have some very successful people, in a 10-15 year span, getting extremely successful(to have your name in newspapers every other day) is like a 1 in 100,000 chance. Even with EB1s.

I would appreciate if any of you could shed light on the following scenario:
If 485 is pending for over six months and someone switched the job using AC21 for a position which would require extended stay [upto 2-3 years] outside the US. Would it any way impact the GC process? Given that priority date is 2007, it is unlikely(?) that 485 would be adjusted in that time.

you will need to come back to atleast get AP approvals (AP expires every year), and if you are served a fingerprint notice, then come back for that. If you are going to be definately out for the next few years, another option is to do consular processing; talk to a lawyer it depends a lot on your specific case.

3. What day did you file in July? Are you in any special category with EB2 like NIW? No special category and I filed on Jul 1 and my application reached USCIS on Jul 2
4. What is your country of chargeability? Are you cross chargeable to any other country? India and no crosscharge.........

Is there any provision in the current bill to allow concurrent filing and have EAD even if the PD is not current? That can stop us from being exploited by some bad employers out there.

I'm in Chicago and will like to move to Atlanta area....Do you guys know how is the IT market (Architect, .NET) doing in this area? Looking at dice and computerjobs, i do see the same jobs getting repeated...Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated..
I lived in Atlanta for 4 years. The job market is just OK there. Not quite sure your reason for the move from Chicago, but if you are looking for weather and job prospects then, Dallas, TX could be a better choice. I maybe wrong but based on what I see - there seem to be more opportunities in the metroplex area

You just have to justify by saying, you have been in US on H1B visa and you came back after you have completed your project. Aftre that it is upto consulate.

Unless its absolutely necessary that you go out of the country I would not advise you to leave. In recent days I have heard of people with even valid H1 stamps .....kris

Hi,
Does anyone know if people on H4 are allowed to work unpaid? For example, can a person on an H4 visa file for an H1B visa with a start date of October 1st, 2007 but work on a volunteer basis (i.e., unpaid) at the same job while waiting for the H1B to come?

AndyPeople on H4 not supposed to take job that normally would be paid. They can do trully volunteer job like community service, charity work any other work that don't have to be paid. In your case it's real work, because you will be paid for it after Oct.1. So employer will hire someone else to do this job till that date. If you work unpaid you replace this guy.

My apologies if the post was out of context. Didn't want to open yet another thread here.
I have only one E-mail id - lobbyday@immigrationvoice.com - which is being used by everyone to send their details for setting up the meetings. I don't have any other E-mail ids with me [ except the volunteer who contacted me]. Which one should I use? Lobbyday@IV or the volunteers E-mail id?
Could we just keep the focus of this thread to encourage more members to send the information required to setup the meetings on Sept 17th? Your comments may be important and you may have a valid concern, but mixing all the information and individual meeting view-points is going to create a chaos.

IN the same context, how about EAD.
If I file I-485 and lets say the dates retrogess and my PD is not current, then as mentioned and if an EAD is not yet issued does the EAD issuance and I-485 both are "suspended" till PD becomes current or is it just the I-485...
I guess what I want to ask is that is EAD linked to PD date ?
No you will get all the benefits of I-485 filing lik EAD and AP. Only your 485 processing will suspend till your PD are current again.

Does anyone have exact idea on what is meant my PD portability. I have my i140 approved on locaiton A. Then I moved to location B and started a new labor and filed for 140 last month.
There was no mention in my second 140 about the old PD. When does exactly I have to mention that I have a PD to use. Is this in 485 stage? When I checked with my attorney he said, I have now two PDs and I can use any of them. But when and how I dont know?
