AFAIK all 485 filings have to be sent to NSC. Also, does one need to attach the original I-140 approval with I-485 or a copy of it will suffice?

thanks indigokiwi. The deadline is end of March, but we would like a large amount of this raised much earlier, since it involves making reservations, booking appointments, for Eg. with the lobbyist.

If you expect the IV core to dedicate it's time JUST for a particular secction of people, then you need to justify that demand.
In your opinion, EB3 is a LOWLY category as compared to EB2. So it is not enough that Nurses feed from it and just about EVERYONE else feeds from it. To top it off, overflow from eb1 goes FIRST to eb2 and then (and almost NEVER) to eb3. SO Eb2 gets a fair chunk of the greed cards, and over and above that you now want the IV core to further drop everything else and help JUST eb2 out? And who should make this demand? None other than someone who is trying to BREAK the community up into Eb2 vs Eb3.

I am really surprised that you guys are contemplating on going against your employer for a employment letter and filing your GC. I mean, how hard is it for you guys to agree to the terms of your employer that you will work till you get your GC and upto 6 months beyond that..
If you guys came before 2001-2002 and seen how the situation was for green card filers you will now what I am talking about..
1. There was no concurrent filing of I-140/485

Story of my life. I complain about delay with my application. Someone joins me and tells me they are in the same boat and the very next day that someone leaves the boat and jumps into "greener" pastures. Everyone is leaving the boat and I seem to be left out :(

me too in same boat. :) In my case USCIS have wrong priority date on my case. On their records it somehow shows Jan 2006, while it should be Jul 2003. I have tried to get it resolved but they haven't done anything about it [had tried Ombudsman (7001), Senator, congressman, SR etc]. Funny thing is even the incorrect priority date is current now. And still waiting for GC for over a month :mad:

Although the thread title says "Reimburse the core team" and I know that the core team will not take any money (and do not expect the memebrs to reimburse them) from the fund that we are planning on creating here...Stilll by contributing to this fund we can make sure that core does not have to bear any out of pocket personal expense in future while working on "our" goal.
Lets see how many of us are actually inetested in contributing. Once we have the number we can set a realistic goal and divide amongst ourselves.
For that I suggest we give this thread good two days to develop and check other members responses...
So here is a chance for everyone to contribute to our own goal. Lets keep this going. Who ever is interested pls reply. I will do a final count after 2 days as suggested and take it from there....

This should be #1 priority of IV.
People have been waiting for their GCs since 2001, 2002 or 2003. My PD is 2004, and I absolutely want everyone with PD before me to get GC before me.
People who are opposing this idea are used to cutting lines -- most of them look like '06 and '07 wannabes ...
Nobody is opposing it..it should be based on years of exp in US..I applied mine in 2001 and got laid off and now I have a priority date of jan 2007..is that FAIR?

1. "W2 Self-employed" is an oxymoron. Self-employed option is possible through 1099. Nowhere on the Yates memo (or any other USCIS resource) does it say that you have to be on a "permanent" job. You sure can be self-employed (i.e., not on a W2) with AC21 provision, as the Yates memo clearly says.
[Now, you can be self-employed with unlimited liability. If you want to reduce your liability, you can open an LLC, which gives you the freedom of filing your income taxes either as a "Sole Proprietor," a "C-Corp," or an "S-Corp." (Please see IRS website for tax implications, e.g., http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=154770,00.html)]
Also, no employer can give you an EVL saying "permanent" job, nor are you required by USCIS to mention that, nor your salary (unless asked for), nor the date when your job ends. Therefore, your statement that "As long as your self employed as drawing w2 salary and doing the same duties - it is permanent employment" is wrong for two reasons. One, you can't be on W2 AND self-employed for the same job (you can, though, open a part-time business on EAD with same/similar responsibility as your labor cert, and file that income as a "Self-employed," or as a "C-Corp," or as an "S-Corp"). Two, your definition/interpretation of "permanent job" is wrong: No job in this country can be permanent (legally speaking), and I haven't seen *any* job offer letter saying it would be a "permanent" job.
